ISAR 1810
In October 1810, Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig married Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. This is an anniversary that we still celebrate to this day. This one-off brew for our pals at Aldi is a nod to the Marzen lagers that German brewers produce to celebrate Oktoberfest. An amber coloured lager with bold malty flavours.

Our limited edition Märzen is a traditional style lager typically brewed for festivals throughout Germany. It has a copper hue with hints of biscuit and toast flavours and a malty sweetness which are balanced with a moderate hop bitterness.

Bottle from Aldi. Clear amber body with a thin beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of nuts, marzipan and caramel. Flavour of wood and brown sugar. Thin body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A nice roasty beer.

Bottle at home. It pours clear rich copper with a decent beige head. The aroma is sweet, oily, resinous, wood, toasted nut and cakey malts. The taste is dry, bitter, woody, toothy, leather, earthy, spice, toasted nut, grainy, slightly burnt note and tannin with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit toothy and drying. Not great...
