swing top bottle (500ml).-Dark amber coloured, medium sized pale beige head, smokey meat nose. Sweet malty and smoked ham taste with notes of caramel and salt.
Thanks Doggythedog for sharing this very good rauchbier with me.

Swingtop bottle courtesy of Rastacouere (thanks!), shared with ozujsko. Poured a big, thick, lasting beige head on top of a hazy brown-very dark amber colour. Pleasant smokey nose (smoked cheese), with notes of malt. The taste is very pleasant as well... fully dominated by various hints of smoked food; smoked pancetta, smoked cheese etc... a nice sweetish maltiness breaks forms a part of the background, maybe just a hint of coffee and a touch of salt. Very nice, and the best smoked beer I’ve had so far. Ooh, I want to go to Vienna even more now.

Sampled draught at the brewpub.
Nut brown with firm creamy head. Beechwood smokey nose. Dense, soft maltyness. The smokeyness is fairly strong and sausagelike, very much like in the better Bamberg rauchbiers. There is a trace of salty licorice in the finish. Wow, this beer was an excellent way of starting a pub crawl, and indeed this brewpub might be the best all-around in Vienna.
