Malted barley, oats. Sitting somewhere between Northern English and American brown ales in style. Medium-bodied. Toasted nuts and dark caramel balanced by hop bitterness and gentle hop aromas

Hoppy american Brown ale. On tap at Hoppy Corner Paris, doesn’t seem super fresh to me, I’m getting a slight oxidation.

Creamy tan head stayed on a dark brown still body. Roasted & nutty aroma. Medium bodied, creamy & smooth on the palate. Malt, sweet fruit, tangy, nutty & berry tastes with a bitter finish. Really nice!

Tap at the brewery. Dark brown colour, creamy light golden head. Aroma is sweet and malty, bit burnt. Taste is lovely, creamy, sweet malty, little bit of roast, lightly spicy, little bit of citrus bitterness. Like it. Rerate August 15. Looks more black than brown. Very dark brown with beige golden head. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, bit of spice, light vanilla. Taste is great, cocoa, creamy, chocolate, very thick and smooth. Lovely stuff. Little bit of ginger maybe. Wow, this is great.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A clear reddish brown beer with a mid-sized most good lasting beige head. Aroma of mild roasted sweet malt, mild coffee and chocolate. Taste of sweet chocolate, some vanilla, roasted malt, lactose, delicious!

Many thanks to Minutemat for this bottle. 6.2%. Malty roasted nose with a nice fresh dry smooth body. Long malty and round, the hops are floral fresh with a nice chocolate malty aroma. Very smooth, a bit warming for the ABV, round and sessionable with a chocolate warm ending. Nice.

Sampled from tap at ’Craftbeer Corner Coeln’ at 6.7% abv. Clear, dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of caramel, nuts and some chocolate. Rather sweet, malty and slightly roasty taste of caramel, chocolate and toasted nuts, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Classic Brown Ale, well done but rather dull.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie. Pours deep chestnut brown, small foamy tan head. Aroma of caramel, nutty malts. Smooth, exceptionally well balanced taste bringing forth warming caramel malts, hints of quadrupel-like dark fruits, mild hop bitterness, more caramel. Lovely Brown Ale.

Bottle from St Pancras Sourced Market. Mid- to dark brown. Translucent with a tiny bit of beige head and lacing. Light aroma of oak and chestnut with a bit of Nutella. Gorgeous sweet taste, chewy and nutty. A nice earthy hop pervades all the way through but it noticeably present in the long finish. Perfectly judged carbonation. Very tasty although it isn’t my favourite Kernel beer.

Bottle, but 6.2%. Clear, dark brown beer with an off-white head. Smells of malt and caramel. Flavour follows suit. Malt, caramel, biscuit, a light fruitiness that carries through into the aftertaste. Surprisingly light and mellow for the strength. A bit too drinkable, perhaps!
