(bottle, 33cl, 9.9% abv) Dark brown colour with a beige and short foamy head. Licquorice-laden aroma with mildly roasted malty notes, hints of coffee, chocolate and wet wood, also a tinge of acidity. Moderately roasty bitter and slightly sweet flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Roasty malt character with loads of licquorice and shades of coffee and chocolate; dry and moderately roasty malty and bitter finish. Rather unbalanced Imperial Stout. 09.V.16

Black color with tan head that goes down quickly. Dry coffee aroma, muddy water. Dry, like a coffee stout, but too weak. ABV hidden well, but I am not sure if that’s a good idea.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 2 - 01/03/14. Dark mahogony brown with a good sized tan covering that retains well. Nose is tarte and tangy fruit, light roast, earthy notes, hint of chocolate, lactic ring. Taste comprises earthy cocoa, baking powder, dark fruits, earthy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Very basic for style, lacks any great depth to the flavours considering the ABV.

Bottle, 75cl. An unclear, brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige to light tan head. The aroma has cocoa and chocolate, with some roasted malts and a fruityness. Dried fruits too. It’s full to medium bodied, with a nice carbonation level. Cocoa, chocolate, dried fruits, berries and some bitterness in the flavor. Lasting finish. Well, a tad messy this one, and sure lacking on the dark maltyness. 140301
