Can to snifter.
Appearance: jet black in the pour with a finger's worth of tan foamy head which dissipated to leave barely any lace.
Aroma: dark chocolate, coffee roastiness, light caramel/toffee malts, some toast and light nuttiness
Flavor: moderately sweet flanked by some light bitterness and roasty tones; mild aftertaste of coffee and dark chocolate
Texture: medium bodied; great sipper, semi-smooth along the tongue with some roasty abrasion but not really aggressive - just noticeable; finishes fairly medium to long with some coffee roasty tones
Overall: nicely done imperial stout very worthy of coming back to.

On tap at Basement Beer Bar. No idea which vintage, probably 2022 or 2023. No additives it seems. It pours a creamy finger thick light tan head and a jet black body. Cute lacing. The aroma is quite mellow, work alcohol, roasted malts, dark chocolate and some coffee. It's full bodied and silky on the palate, warming and sweet, with a gentle bitterness. Roasted malts, caramel, dark chocolate, alcohol and some coffee in the flavor. Long finish. A nice one for sure, but perhaps a bit too mellow and straightforward. 230808

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a creamy, moderate dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark burnt malt and a hint of toothpaste. ? Call it full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, burnt malt, brown sugar and something herby/minty in a small way. Not dry, but somewhat astringent. Even some marshmallow notes. Heat when it's sought. Very clean IS. Bitter enough. Very plain IS. Good to get back to basics.

Can. Pours black with a slight brown hue and a brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has sweet dark grains and chocolate with light roasted malts and a hint of toffee underlying. Flavor has sweet dark grains and a hint of coconut with chocolate and just a touch of roast underlying.

16 oz can from tavr. Slick Rich and poor almost black, thin beige head rolls out like syrup. Boozy, chocolatey aroma, definitely some Barrel notes. Taste brings the chocolate up front with some smooth sweetness, kind of like a German chocolate cake. Alcohol not as prominent in The Taste like it is in the aroma, but you can tell it's there. This is a desert beer by all measures.
