Bottle 500ml. @ home. [ As Giesinger Dunkel ].[ Courtesy of Flaskedrengen ]. ABV: 5.3%. Clear medium amber brown color with a large to huge, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, sweet malt, nutty, caramel, dark malt, sour malt notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, bread, dark malt, caramel, sugary, nutty notes, hay notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. May ’15. On tap at the brewpub. It poured almost clear copper body with smaller head. Sweeter caramel aroma, similar flavor with a bit more complexity like earthy and woody notes. Pleasant and not overwhelming on too cloying in its medium body. Finish was moderately long, with sweet toasted caramel malt dominating again. Fine, a clean dunkel on the sweeter side.

Draught Red-black beer with a thick, cream head, lacerings. Diacetyl, roasted, not dry. Sweet - lightly roasted, sweet gravy notes or Ketjap Manis (with butter). Thick, bit cloying MF, good carbonation. Too sweet by half, not even mentioning the diacetyl...

Dark brown amber color with nice tan head. Aroma is fresh, nutty, some caramel and chocolate. Taste is nutty, a bit rusty nails, dry, a little bit watery mouthfeel. Good balance, a solid Dunkel.

Keg at the new brewpub, 05/02/15. Light chestnut brown with a decent off white covering that retains well, good lacing ensues. Nose is toffee, brown sugar, caramel, light spice. Taste comprises mellow fruits, raisens, toffee, biscuit, sweet licks. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.
