Sample (thanks fonefan!). Copper colour no head. Aroma is cherries, black currant and some sweet honey and some slight alcohol. Flavour is toffee, honey, alcohol and some black currant with also some raspberries. Supersweet, but very delicate.

Bottle sample at the Mead Museum, pours a clear dark red / burgundy. Aroma brings out jammy red currant and heavy sweet honey nectar. Flavour is jammy and lightly tart, with lots of medium sweet honey, heavy currants that cut down on the sweetness a bit, light tartness and gentle acidity. Cohesive and complex. Excellent.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Clear burgundy colour, smal head. Intense aroma of black currant and honey. Sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Concentrated honey and black currant brandy. Not complex, but intense and with some balance.

Pours a ruby-to-garnet red, clear. Scent is pronounced, dry fruityness. Don't know black current enough to say I could blindly tell it's that, but at least it's a specific, well-recognizable scent. Taste is medium full to full. Drying (tannins, just a hint). Rich fruityness. Honey delivers great support. Far more balanced than the cherry one. Not as over-the-top sweet and concentrated as the US ones (which I prefer) but certainly a nice try !
