Our 2021 cosmic collaboration is with Cult of Oak. Wizards of their craft who are no strangers to whipping up big and boozy magical treats. Using slightly less hops than the 2020 version, we’ve let the malt bill truly shine through this year. Pitch black in colour, full bodied in mouthfeel, set your senses on an all-out liquorice and dark fruits choc-bomb with a sweet caramel and toffee finish.

Bottle from Lomgacres, Sunningdale or wherever it is in the Berks hinterlands. Aroma has dark fruit and liqourice. Dark and glossy. Foamy beige head soon recedes. Hmmm. Tangy. Liqourice. Soy. Coffee. Develops molasses sweetness. More bitter coffee into the finish, plus underlying malts. Heavy bodied. Oily. Long astringent finish. Big but sips easy like.

330ml bottle at Roberto’s Bar and Tasting Club. Poured a clear chestnut brown colour with a round frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt and red berry fruits. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, light sweet, with a big, dry, light red berry fruit, earthy, mineral, boozy alcohol bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with average to soft carbonation.
