Suodattamaton tummanruskea ale. Vahva, lämmittävän maltainen ja runsaan hedelmäinen kokonaisuus. Jälkimaussa erittäin kuiva humalan puraisu.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BB 08.01.2017, from Alko, 20150219) The beer poured dark brown and hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, molasses and caramel. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, malts, pine, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, hoppy and bitter. A good hop-forward barley wine.

Smell of hops, which wasn’t exactly expected. Hazy bronze colour, small light brown head. Aroma of alcohol, bread, nuts, red wine, finishes with a dry hoppy aroma and maybe some mint? Bitter, but balanced by the alcohol sweetness. Very oily texture, rich body. Soft carbon. Very good one.

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 10.01.2017
Aroma has sweet vanilla, harsh malt, caramel and some fruits. Also berries. Flavour has sweet malt, berries, caramel and some metallic tones. Finishes with lingering hops, harsh maltiness, gooseberry bush and grapefruit. More dry than American BWs usually. A bit too harsh. Gets some mint in the aftertaste at the end of the glass.

50cl bottle. Dark reddish brown looked, thin off white head. Bready malty, dark fruity notes, soaked plums in aroma. Flavor has raisins, dark bread, rye notes, some roastedness. Finish is hoppy and dry, fruity. Superb drinkability, nicely balanced. Some alcohol warmth. I especially like the bitter dry finish. Well done.

A very dark brown, slightly red beer, a head is almost medium and beige. The aroma is rich of malts, lots of dark and dried fruits, some strawberries, also hint of liquirice. The great and rich aroma. Taste has riped fruits, herbs, prunes, richness of malts, low caramel. Surprisingly, quite dry. Strongly herbal bitterness dries the mouth and the end is even slightly acrid. Almost full bodied, low carbonation, easy to drink. Herbal, rich and easily enjoyable beer, very good.

Bottle 0.5l at home, Helsinki. BBE 09.01.2017. Colour is slightly reddish brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Dry fruits, sweetness, some hints of alcohol, exciting hops, some resiny and strong malts. Definitely best Finnish barley wine so far. Nice warming beer. Have to get many bottles for aging.
