Sample at the Long Beach tasting room. Clear yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of tart citrus, yeast and biscuit malt. The finish is tart with a citrusy aftertaste. Above average overall.

On tap at Ballast Point - Scripps Ranch, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light lacto, a touch of citrus and some pith. Flavour is very dry, with lots of lacto, loads of citrus and a pithy quality. Dry, balanced and dynamic. Not the most phenomenal Berliner, but it's certainly done well.

Taster at the brewery. Pale golden color with white ring. Aroma is grainy, some fresh fruits. Taste is tart, some berries going on in there, maybe grapes, more grains. Crisp and clean. Not the best of Berliner Weisse, too grainy. Still super-drinkable, but where is the wheat? This is more like a tart Kölsch.
