Hazy orange colour. Aroma has some caramel malts and even a touch of whiskey. Flavour is similarly malty with some banana sweetness and orange peel bitterness too. Body is a tad thin and watery. Strange example of a Weizen but not bad. The biggest disappointment is paying so much for it.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fine malty, fine yeasty, not too dry. Mild-sourish notes. Fruity notes of apricot. Finish well balanced, malty-yeasty. Quite drinkable. A good one!

Fles 50cl thuis. Wat fruitige tarwesmaak. Licht maltig en kruidig, zoeten, banaan. Romig op het laatst. (8-2013).

50cl, direct comparison to the "normal" Weizen. 7/12/6/7

Bottle #01743.2. slightly smoky.peaty taste to this weizen, almost reminiscent of a rauchbier. Pours brown/orange with small head. Aroma is peat, musty, charcoal, hints of banana. Taste is the same at first, with the banana coming in at the tail end and lingering on the palate. This is a very different take on a wizen, and I think is why the scores are so low.

Bananiger, zu süßer Antrunk. Dann sind die Hefenoten angenehmer, das Bier mild und süffig. Zum Ende sogar wässrig, kaum bananig, langweilig. 9/9/8/7/9/8

Bottle: Cloudy, amber coloured, very stable creamy off-white head, toasty-wheaty, almost bready nose, supported by distinctive fruity traces (raspberries, strawberries); sweetish-sourish flavour, pretty light bodied; lemony-toasty finish with some very well hidden hops in the aftertaste. Unusual Weizen , but - can’t help it - quite nice…
