This is the red version of the white Amoureuse, for which we use grapes of the Garanoir variety. This beer can only be brewed once a year, during the harvesting season. For the 2014 version and thereafter, the winegrower will not separate the marc from the must at the outset. He intends to leave it for a few days so that it takes on a more intense colour. The must is added to the beer at the height of the fermentation process, which carries on normally. . As the fruit yeasts are active, they develop a drier finish and the end product is a beer that is more acidy than usual.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with small, frothy, diminishing, white head. Light vinous aroma, silica. Taste is monotonous, light vinous, tart, silica, a touch of tannic acid; flat, though slightly prickling carbonation. Not for me.

Bottle at Rabbits Club. Nice berry tart nose. Tastes of berries, grape skins, earth, lemons, vinegar, woody, and soy sauce. Nicely carbonated. Really quite tasty. Euro night continues

Draft at Max’s. cloudy golden amber color, smsll white head, solid lacing. Aroma of sour berries and early summer fruit. Taste is softly sour strawberries, cherries, lemons. Tasty.

Bottle pour at sourfest. Pours with a hazed peachy hued body with a white head. ARomas are of stone fruit, redwine, canned peaches, plums, medium funky and peppery. Grapes. Flavors are tart, pear, plum soil, red wine and canned fruit. Lively carbonation, medium tart, dry.

The color is light amber, muddy, with reddish hue; small compact head. Very nice aroma, vinous, elegant, with some vinegar sourness, and berries. Highly carbonated, smooth, with good body presence, nice combination of fruits and sourness, balanced and harmonious.

Bottle. Reddish-amber beer with a dark cream head. Tart and fruity aroma with oak. Berry fruit and oak flavor with tartness. Medium bodied. Berry fruit and oak lingers with light malt.

Swingtop from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours hazy copper with a fizzy short lived head. Aroma is sour berry with astringency. Flavor is sour with a lot of berry and something like astringent wood. Very nice brew.
