This is Single Barrel Rain Shadow; our annual release of our straight-up Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. This year, we've developed it into three distinct expressions. This is the Rye variant, aged in American Rye Whiskey barrels in our barrel store for 1 year. We've aged it so you don't have to - ready to enjoy.

Wasn't too crazy about the bourbon or scotch of this but this rye is sooooo nice. Slightly sweet slightly spicy boozy and chocolatey, perfect.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours oily black with a cascading, frothy brown head. Medium to big sweet flavour, rich and layered dark malts, bitter dark chocolate, a bit of fudge, heart roast, black coffee, scorched marshmallows. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, light ashy stickiness, more bitter dark chocolate, lingering roast. Rich yet restrained. Outstanding.

33cl can from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: medium, dark tanned, good retention C: black, opaque. A: rich dark malts, bit woody, caramel, chocolate, bit cocoa, coconut, dark dried fruits, bit umami, vinous touch. T: full malty base, light oily mouthfeel, chocolate, coconuts, woody, bit caramel, dried fruits, vanilla touch, bit warming alcohol, umami touch, almost no carbonation, very good, fully enjoyed.

Can @ Cloudwater Extravaganza Night with SirAlex. Pours black with a small creamy head. Roast, coconut, ashes, wood. Touch of alcohol and charcoal. Full bodied. Roasted bitter finish.

Black with a minimal light brown head. Aroma of wooden barrels, caramel and some dried fruit sense. Sweet with a warm sticky wooden barrels, caramel and roasted malt sense at the end.

Can at home picked up from Buzton online. An oily jet black coloured pour with a lasting dark tan head. Aroma is ig dark chocolate, cocoa, cherry, kirsch, vanilla, woody roast, smooth. Flavour is composed of rich dark chocolate cake, black forest gateaux, chcolately roast, tangy, little coffee. Lingering boozy alcohol, whiskey. Palate is full bodied, rounded, velvety, fine carbonation, light tang. Good stuff. Lingering chocolate and biscotti.

330ml can from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Dissipating tan-coloured head, clingy lacing, deep black body. Inviting smell of dark chocolate and caramel, nicely roasted. Fine balanced malt-forward taste of oak vanilla together with dark chocolate, caramel and a biscuit vibe. Lingering and smooth, roasted ending. Full bodied, still dangerously easy to drink. Enjoying sipper. (Rating session at Finn's place, with djoeye and Finn, Tromsø 18.02.2021).

Spandert av Rune. Delt med ham & djoeye på Nerstranda. Svart. Lysebrun skumring. Aroma av vanilje & sjokolade. Smaken lær, sjokolade, svisker. Langvarig tørr læraktig avslutning. Toppøl!
