This is Single Barrel Rain Shadow; our annual release of our straight-up Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. This year, we've developed it into three distinct expressions. This is the Rye variant, aged in American Rye Whiskey barrels in our barrel store for 1 year. We've aged it so you don't have to - ready to enjoy.

Canned, 330 ml shared with Max and Miro B. Dark brown with medium brownish head. Roasted, coffee, chocolate, whiskey, smooth, nice bitter finish. Medium to full bodied.

Can at home, 29th January 2021. Pours a black good looking stout. Aroma is dark malts, liquor, barrel and wood. Taste is dark malts, wood, wet barrel, leather, dry, sweet, but never too much, grains, liquor, it’s really well executed, Buxton excel at BA Impys

Can. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy bubbly dark tan head. Light palate, reasonably smooth and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Rich but slightly tangy dark malts, a good dose of dark chocolate and dark chocolate cake. Modest spice. A little fruity whiskey underneath along with a little dry wood. Smooth finish leaves a mildly spicy and woody linger. Tasty buy I would like something sweeter in the core of this beer. Still purdy good.

33 cl can @ Konttori. Batch #713: BBE 31.12.2022 Aroma is surprisingly mild with cocoa and dark fruits. Flavour has woody tones, dark chocolate. Also dark fruits. Finishes with fruit juice and mild hoppiness. A bit of a disappointment.

Black with no head. Aroma of rich dark malt, dark chocolate, oak, bourbon, fudge, vanilla, booze and chocolate brownies. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
