Fra flaske på Mi2, Cardinal april-16: kullsort med kort skum. Aroma og smak av kaffe, torvrøkt malt, whisky, tjære, kaffe, lakris, sviskeplommer. Lavt karbonert, slank og lett å helle innpå selv om jeg synes at den dufter bedre en den smaker.

Bottle at home, 11th March 16. Black with a big bubbly head, unusual for a BA impy. Aroma is peat, dark chocolate, woody barrel. Taste is peat and whiskey forward, thin body, dark chocolate, slight liquorice. Tasty

Bottle, Old Casks 2002. Black with tan foam. Aroma: iodine, bandages, peat and other tones of Islay whisky, burning, caramel. Taste: whisky, prunes, smoked, peat, slightly sour, wine, caramel, oak barrel.

Tap at Erzbierschof. Re-rated on 14.4.2016. Very, very burnt, lots of smoky whisky barrel. Not sure this was in Speyside barrels, rather tastes like Laphroaig. Greasy and heavy and full. If you like burnt whisky, this is perfect. If you don’t, well... Not so much.

At Craft & Draft. Speyside edition. Thick oily dark pour. Strong aroma of fruity scotch booze, ripe fruit and roasted peat. Rich flavor of soft smooth fruity scotch, mild peat, smoke, some coffee and some roast in the finish. Very drinkable. Awesome beer.

Black color with small beige head. So much peat. Initially, nearly Laphroaig level. Surprisingly soft taste, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, no booze at all, maybe a little bit warming. Beautiful carbonation. Very good, and different. First time I have a beer this peaty and don’t think it’s unbalanced.

Bowmore-barrel aged version of Verdi with added chilli peppers. Sticky, firm, beige head, colour very dark brown, near black. Powerful and delightful aroma of coffee powder, toffee, tobacco, tar, cherries, hardly any chilli peppers (not sure if this is a good thing or not)... Peaty, earthy and smoky profile, chocolate and sweetish honeyish malts, liquorice, light peppery finish from hops and for all I know from the chilli peppers, some warming, very agreeable, whisky-like alcohol. Another masterpiece from Ducato - ti amo!
