Draught @ Øllets Dag 2014, Kolding. Pours cloudy very dark coffee brown with small light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and coconut and vanilla touches from the barrel. Booze in the long nose but that is understandable. Sweetish and vinous flavour of malt and coffee beans, with pronounced notes of barrel AMD sweetish hints of vanilla. Very low carb. Warming alcohol presence. Bittersweet aftertaste. Perfectly balanced. Sooooo good.

Sampled form a 0.33l bottle from #119, 2002 islay cask, @ Crowbar - courtesy of Sigmund. Thanks man! This is a near black looking one in the glass. It also has a small quickly sidesticking kinda brown looking little head. I was expecting a peat bomb, but this is actually a tad sweeter and more balanced than what I was expecting. Still, it has some strong roapy, burned, really woody islay tones here. A faint vanilla sweetness in the back and it also has a thick and dark roasted tone all the way. Oh, the peat kicks you in the teeth when tasting it! It's quite woody okay and infused with a smoky punch. Thick and oily in the mouth with a gentle prickling carbonation level. Concentrated chocolate milk with dark burned wood, sea rope and burned leather. Not something you chug down, but as a small sampler it's quite nice. 16.02.2014

Rerate, 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10,0%. Aged in Speyside 2003 barrels. Pitch black colour, minimal brown head. Strong aroma of roast malts, tar, liquorice, moderate peat. The flavour is also roasty with tar and more pronounced peat, but not nearly as much peat smoke as in the Islay version. Hints of strong coffee and liquorice. I’m upping it a point or two. Original rating: Bottle, at Crowbar, Oslo. Served too cold. ABV is 10,0%. Aged in Islay 2002 barrels. Pitch black colour, minimal brown head. Strong aroma of Islay Scotch whisky, peat smoke, roasted malts, coffee, a hint of liquorice. Very peaty and roasty flavour.

09/10/2014 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma cappuccino a grana grossolana, abbondante e persistente. Al naso sentori di malti tostati, note torbate, leggero fruttato, etilico, note di botte, vaniglia, whisky, non male. In bocca note di caffé, whisky torbato, leggera liquirizia, alcol, un po’ stucchevole a lungo andare. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione medio-bassa. Interessante, ma andrebbe leggermente affinata.
