Tom Oliver makes cider and perry in small batches, using fresh pressed cider apples and perry pears, spontaneously fermented by wild yeasts. Barleycorn & Appleseed was made by co-fermenting a rich barleywine wort with a blend of juice from bittersweet apples and cider lees in old oak whisky casks for 15 months. A true union of traditional cider making and beer brewing techniques.

Bottle @ Coronashare #20-something with SirAlex of I Am Lenny Kravitz of the Friendsandfam fame. Pours hazy golden with bubbles on top. Wood, whiskey and juicy apple. Tannins and barnyard. A lot of things happening. Warmth. Short dry finish. Not sure I see the genius of it.

Bottle. Fine Cider Co online shop. Touch of murk, on a deep bronze. Slimmest ring of white head. Nose is extraordinary. Stepped on apple. Compost. Leathery brett. Barley sugar sweets. Lambinett and Foxwhelp apples at a very amateur guess. Rich grain. Booze steeped oak. Taste is sweet and juicy, tart and bitter. Smooth as you like on the palate, drinking ridiculously easy at the ABV. Very fine carbonation. Proper mouthwatering. Tart and juicy ripe apple to finish. Took some working out that rating.
