Pours clear dark brown with a finger of light tan head. Aroma of toffee, vanilla, caramel, light bread, light banana, some basement aromas. Taste is big, bold butterscotch burnt butter sweet, long sweet finish. Body is rich and creamy although with very rich carbonation, which kind of pulls the entire package apart.

First rating(Bottle at the brewery) 2004 edition. Brownish look with a small head. Vinous typical barley wine style scent, alcohol as well. Draught, 9.0%. Citric aroma, yoghurt style. Quite cloudy, dark reddish colour. Small, but seemingly stable light brown head. The flavour is quite bitter, but balanced by sourness. The alcohol is well-hidden. The mouthfeel is not impressive for a barley wine, but OK.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] An unclear brown beer with a lazing light brown head. The aroma is sweet hoppy combined with notes over over ripe fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, and over ripe fruit, as well as light notes of wood.

Draught, alc. 9.5%
Hazy nut brown, small nut brown head. Sticky glue aroma. Alcoholic, fruity (plums, vigs) and glue (!) aroma. Unbalanced brew which was not ready yet. (2/3/3/2/7 1.7)

Ruby red, good creamy beige head. A bit roasted malts, alcohol and horseblanket in the nose. Dark chocolate, rye bread, nice bready hops in the flavor. Nice barley wine style brew and now much better than last time. Rating based solely to this year’s tasting.

Draught@SBWF2005. Hazy nut brown colour, beige foamy head. Sweet caramellish alcoholic flavour and aroma. Aroma also some old vegetables and toffee. Caramellish aftertaste. Gelt like it will get better later. Brew gone bad this year. 4 3 7 3 11

Draught@SBWF2007. Now this was what it probably should be. Ambery reddish colour with small beige head. Aroma is vanilla, hops, sweet caramel malts and alcohol in an excellent balance. Flavour is sweet malts, alcohol, madeirawine some nectary and wooden notes also. Mild chocolateish notes in the finish. Really good. 8 4 8 4 16.

(Draught@Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Murky brown colour, ok head. Chocolate and orange aroma. Flavour starts of on a plastic note, the turns sweet and malty with notes of raisins. The alcohol is noticable. The plastic thing ruins everything.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Hazy amber. Intense graefruit aroma. Sweet, peachy and very malty with soft mouthfeel. Both very hop aromatic and malt accented. Gentle, yet powerful. Well balanced, and really enjoyable!
