Pours clear dark brown with a finger of light tan head. Aroma of toffee, vanilla, caramel, light bread, light banana, some basement aromas. Taste is big, bold butterscotch burnt butter sweet, long sweet finish. Body is rich and creamy although with very rich carbonation, which kind of pulls the entire package apart.

Big pale brown head. Hazy deep red body with vigourous carbonation. Strong chocolatey nutty aroma with earthy caramel and toffee notes. Intense dry-sweet aclohol, cocoa, and earth taste with walnut and butterscotch notes. Hot, sharpish mouthfeel. Full body. Fairly bitter oily cocoa and raisins aftertaste with dusty peppery strawberry notes. Some bread or biscuits, too. Excellent! With a bit lower alcohol and more depth this would have been a real star! (0.33l bottle, Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a cloudy reddish amber with a dense and lacing beige head. Nose is rich in overripe fruit - and some manure and phenols. Very solid body, overripe fruit and caramel with LOADS of booze. Warming alcohol finish. 241010

Bottle from SB, cons 2010-09-23, Göteborg, 2007 year edition! AR: a bit like old stock, vinos, pruns, chocolate, rasins, very round and a bit oaky. The nice aroma i still there after being poured. AP: dark ruby body, creme caramell coloured froty head F: a bit to obevious strong, but very nice flavours of caramel, scottish toffee, vinos, pruns, chocolate, rasins fruity and a bit dry finish. I guess it needs a couple of more years of storing to get a rounder flavour and more appeling taste. Oily consistence. Have had several editions of this beer, over the years.

Light gushing to medium, dense yellow-cream head, not very stable over ruby-brown beer; clear burt for the very last of the bottle. Rich malty nose, with alcohol and something lactic, sweet spices and mild hops. Rich taste, alcoholic and cakey, with hops blending seamlessly in. If anything, more meaty than lactic in the mouth. Very good balance. Quite rich velvety MF, and feels more carbonated than it looks. Long warming aftertaste with alcohol-preserved orangequarts. Dangerously drinkable little bottle, dangerously likeable little nobleman, both very expensive...

Bottle. Hazy brownish with a small slightly tan head. Malt, malt, malt! Yes it was very malty both in the aroma and taste. The aroma also contained syrup, dried dark berries, raisins and caramel. The taste was sweet but not sugary, sticky, thick mouth feel. Aftertaste was long and contained some alcohol. A good Swedish Barley Wine
