Farmstead® Wheat Ale Aged in Oak Puncheons

This version of Florence, our Belgian-inspred Farmstead® ale, was aged for many months in our puncheons—not quite Florence, not quite Flora, but magical all the same. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated.

Little bit of boiled egg aroma, funk, pretty yeast aroma with citrus lemon. oh wow. oh damn. sweet, juicy, bright, citrusy, acidic. wow. mind blowing.

A hazed golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous herbaceous hops, light curacao, light Brett, very nice. In mouth, a nice tart mix of lemon pulp, light tropical fruits, light curacao, very nice and complex. Bottle at DLD 2019.

Thnx to Bryan ! Pours unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is citrussy, slightly woody, mild funk. Taste is full, intense, dry, citrussy, oaky, rather dry, funky, high carbonation, medium body. nice and refreshing. Ends very dry and tart , perhaps a bit too dry and to tart ( i'm used to more subtility in HF beers ) .

750ml bottle from a trade. Slightly sour, funky and farmyardy with some fruits, earthiness, hay, citrus and tartness, hints of oak. Really well balanced and funky tart saison.

Bottle, by way of a trade. Straw colour. Soft haze. Film and ring of white head. Nose has sawn oak. Preserved lemon. Lots of peach and apricot. Light, sweaty funk. Smells like a fruited beer. Taste is tart, juicy, and a little dry. Touch of fruit sweetness on the lips. Ridiculously juicy and mouth watering on the palate. Fine and crisp carbonation. Tart and juicy finish. Not overly complex, but ridiculously easy drinking. So good.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is nice a with some light fruitiness with stone fruit, pear and hints of tropical fruit. Light grain notes and hints of oak. Pours a hazy, yellow gold with a medium sized, white head that recedes to the edges where it lingers for a bit in clumps. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor has a light acidity with a light grain notes and hint of sweetness. Medium low bitterness and hints of oak. Light stone fruit, pear and tropical fruit notes. Light mineral notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice saison. Solid mineral and ester notes with some balanced oak notes.
