Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small offwhite head and good lacing. Roasted malts and cranberries in the aroma. Cranberries again prominent in the mouth, together with vanilla. It has a smooth creamy texture though with an underlying sharpness (due to the cranberries). Hints of malts as well. Finish is quite fruity. This is nice, velvety and pleasingly restrained.

Half pint on cask at the Hallcross. Medium creamy beige head. Clear amber pour. Light cranberry.
