Cask at the Wellington; clear light brown pour with a bubbly light tan head, aroma has some nutty action, taste has chocolate and nut, some light fruits.

33cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A reddish chestnut colour with a thin beige head; malty aroma; and a straightforward, fresh malty taste; with some caramel to finish. A good old fashioned mild.

Cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark chocolate brown, with a small white head. Low on aroma: a bit of wood and fig, along with a faulty and almost acrid note. The taste is better: sweet and chocolately with a lighter bitter note near the end. Bittersweet finish. Body is light, even watery, but thatโ€™s par from the course for this ABV.

Cask at the Victoria Inn, Ruggers, 12/03/14. Dark mahogony brown with a well appointed light tan covering that stays for the show, full glass lacing ensues. Nose is dark toffee, tobacco, dark stoned fruits, brown sugars, Soreen malt loaf. Taste comprises toffee fudge, leather, tar, bramble berries, brown bread, more tobacco. Light in body with soft carbonation, sweet fruit laced closure. Solid mild - one of the most flavoursome Iโ€™ve encountered!

Dark brown with no head. Sweet berry aroma but not so in taste and this is where its mildness shows.
