Deep ruby with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of toasted grains, berries, caramel. A bit earthy. Taste has a steady toasted bitterness with a hint of caramel sweetness at the finish, which remains overall toasted bitter. Body to the light side of medium, moderate carbonation. Simple but nicely done.

Bottle from the Orkney Brewery. Pours a crystal clear light mahogany colour with a thin to medium sized creamy off white head. Aromas of malt, hops, caramel, toffee, biscuits floral and citrus notes. Taste has all the same notes as the aroma with more caramel and toffee, malts, lemon and orange peel, citrus notes and hops. The initial taste is malty caramel and toffee, biscuity in the middle and the finish citrus and hops. Extremely well balanced. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and a lasting hoppy bitter citrus aftertaste. Very good beer!
