500ml bottle at Bothy Bar in Kirkwall. A hazy amber body with a slowly diminishing off-white head leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Smell of apricot and toffee. Spiced malt-fruity flavours, hints of dried fruits and caramel malts. Mid-sweet ending. Quite alright after the field trip at Orkney Islands (14.04.2016).

Cask (backlog). Hazy orangeish amber colour with not too much head. Aroma is spices, caramel, toffee and some wooden notes. Flavour is caramel, toffee, zest, sweet fruits and some mild spiciness as well. Bitter with mild added spices in aftertaste.

Bottle from Royal Mile Whiskies. Clear amber body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of Christmas pudding, fig and a faint hint of rum. Flavour of ginger, lightly roasted malt and honey. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Subtle and tasty - I don’t think I couldn’t drink more than one in a sitting though. Maybe better suited to cask.

Cask handpull at County Hotel jdw Ashford. Clear dark amber colour lasting thin white head. Some spice on aroma. Spice and malt in the flavour. Finish has little hop presence. Condition is ok. Too much spice for me even though it’s not overly spiced.

Flaske delt med importør Ovesen: kobberfarget med gardinskum. Smak og aroma har et visst appelsinpreg med litt krydder forsiktig i bakgrunnen, alt ganske kledelg og bidrar til at den er lettdrikkelig. Heller lavt karbonert men fin munnfølelse. Den forsiktige bitterheten og behagelige ettersmaken gjør også sitt til at den er lett å helle innpå - en god session bitter med lav voltstyrke.

From bottle. Amber. Pale beige head and lacing. Aroma of orange marmelade and fruit cake. Yule tide spices in taste. Low carbonation. Well balanced with moderate bitterness.

Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white to light beige head. Ginger, cardamom, cloves and some malts in the aroma. Sort of cake-like. The flavor is pretty much the same, with some bitterness and a little sweetness. Mostly dry though, with a pleasant carbonation level. Medium body. Not as spiced in the finish as it is in the aroma, I think that’s probably unfortunate. Sure drinkable, but boring. 140418
