A rich Stout brewed with lactose, coffee, and vanilla. If you wanted to enjoy a cold beverage in the heat of summer before power came to Sylvan Lake in 1932, chances are you’d have been a patron of Bill and Flo Brown’s ice cutting business. Using a buzz saw and a small horsepower motor, the Browns cut blocks of ice from the frozen lake in the winter, stored them in sawdust, and delivered them door to door in wooden boxes from their 3/4 ton truck.

Vanilla, milk and roast. Coffee. Black pour with good mocha head and lacing. Bitter finish with a touch of sweetness. Roasty and nice overall, without too much sweetness from milk or vanilla. Can.

355ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, short lived, light brown head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, lactose, dark chocolate and vanilla in a dry, mild bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a sticky, smooth texture and soft carbonation. A little sweet, but tasty. A good dessert beer.
