Subtle notes of dried cherries, fig, fine-grind espresso, and licorice compliment the impressive body of chocolate, vanilla, toffee, and roasted Albertan barley. We recommend allowing this strong ale to warm in a snifter or tulip before enjoying, Allowing time for the flavours to develop and open up in the glass.

We Recommend Cellaring This Dark, Rich, & Complex Brew.

On tap at Medicine Hat Brewing, pours black with a tiny head. Nose is really oily, with soy sauce, a little cola, and some toasted malt. Flavour is quite oily, with light toasted malt, motor oil, and cola. Lacking body and integration. Not very proficient.

355ml can. Pours an opaque black with a small, creamy, long lasting, brown head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, fig and vanilla. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, licorice, ash, light cherry and a hint of smoke in a dry, mild bitter, coffee finish. Medium to full body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Well balanced, ABV is well hidden.
