Can from the LCBO. Dark mahogany under a large foamy cage au lait coloured head that lingers and produces thick lace. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, chalk, light vanilla and dark malts. Light sweet malt and a light+ coffee bitterness. Mouth is thinner than expected but still creamy with fine carbonation. 8-/5/7/3/15

Can at Schwechat airport Billa. Does the job very well. Despite not being able to pour it in a glass, I clearly felt the nitro element and creamy smoothness on my tongue. It was dry, with a feeling of rather high but creamy carbonation. Fully roasty, coffeeish, a bit ashy, with little getting in the way. Good one.

Can from Drinkmonger. Black body with ruby highlights and a thick beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of charred wood, cocoa, dark chocolate and biscuit. Flavour of chocolate and vanilla with a bitter finish. Medium to full body with creamy mouthfeel. Gentle fizz. This is an unexpectedly excellent beer. I’d like to try a blind side-by-side tasting with Guinness as I think this would come out on top.
