Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours opaque jet black with a thick, creamy tan head. The aroma is smooth, rich roasted malt, dull smoke, umami, dark chocolate, cacao nibs and coffee grounds. The taste is initially crazy smooth and airy, rich roasted malt, then some bitterness, toasty, umami, cacao nibs, dark chocolate, coffee grounds, liquorice, charred, touch of tobacco and peppery spice with a roasty finish. Medium, fulsome body and massaging, velvety carbonation / mouth feel. Nitro works well with this. Not a huge amount of depth to it, but an enjoyable drinking experience nonetheless.

Can, small stable creamy head, black but not completely opaque colour, aroma of roasted notes and dark bread, flavor of chocolate and charred notes, quite dry but with a mellow bitterness and a light sweetness. A bit too smooth for my liking but still nice and drinkable.

Gedeeld uit een blik met Huub. Grappig openingseffect. Bruine kleur, beige schuim. Typische stoutsmaak, moutig en droog.

Can 44cl. @home poured into a tumbler, shared with Joost. Deep dark brown colour, tall creamy beige head, good retention, heavy lacing. Aroma toasted malts, cocoa, coffee, mocha. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, chocolate, coffee groundings. Medium body, watery to oily texture, average carbonation, smooth dry sweetbitter aftertaste, easy to drink, same quality as the regular one.

Looks spot on. Black, with a thick creamy head. Smells of toasty malt. Taste has a dash of very dark chocolate, the malt as mentioned, a little coffee. It has a bit of a watery finish which is a shame but the body is okay and as a nitro it's very smooth. Fine, drinkable, sessionable, unremarkable.

A black beer, a head is creamy, medium and beige. Aroma has roastiness, coffee, some chocolate. Taste has roastiness, coffee, light chocolate. Medium bodied, velvety palate. Nitrogen is the best part of this beer, but also the beer itself has to be good enough to get some boost from nitrogen.

44 cl can. Looks great (thank the nitrogen!), dark brown, with lush foam. Aroma: burnt and roasted aroma, caramel, a little coffee and chocolate. Taste: velvety, burnt barley, weak caramel, a little coffee and chocolate, good.

Can, 0.44l. Black pour, one finger creamy beige head. Long lasting, excellent head retention. Very nice lacing on the glass as it goes down. Roasty on the nose, roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, touch of smoke. Quite nice. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Soft and creamy texture, very pleasant on the palate. Easily drinkable. Roasty bitter taste with subtle sweet notes in the background. Aroma of roasted malt, coffe, cocoa. Chocolate, latte, mild smoke, toasted caramel. Long lasting finish, lingering bitterness, dry. Quite enjoyable.
