Beers in the American Wheat style are Americanized versions of the Hefeweizen, displaying more hop and less yeast character than their German cousins. Fat Lizard brews theirs with Chinook and Citra hops, and a Vermont ale yeast. Bright notes of fuzzy peach, lime, melon, wheat and green grape on the nose. These continue in the flavour where they fade to the background while pale malt, melon rind and a hint of white pepper take over. Light bodied, medium carbonation and a low bitter.

First "topless can" for me. On glass, the beer is hazy, light golden beer with good and stable head. Aroma is mild, it has some citrus and grain. Taste has wheat, citrus. Quite mild, needs some bitter and stronger body.

440ml can from Pien, Helsinki. Smooth, slightly watery and grassy hoppy wheat ale with hints of citrusy and fruity notes, not much wheaty notes though.

Can. A murkky, light yellow beer. A head is quite big and blond. Aroma has mango, citrus, also strong chalk. Taste has citrus, tropical fruitness, also chalk but less than in the aroma. Short. Light bodied. Too much of chalk, also too less of bitterness. Easy summer drink, anyway.

Tap @ hbf 2017. Poured golden color with a thin white head. Wheaty sweet fruity, papaya, pineapple kinda aroma. Flavor has tropical fruits, pineapples, mango, sweetness. Medium bodied.

Tap at HBF. Hazy yellow, small white head. Fruity, pineapple aroma. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Tropical fruity, citrus, pineapple. Ok session pa.

Tap at Gallow’s Bird, Espoo. Colour is cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, citrus, some banana, wheat, hops and malts. Quite fresh but watery.

(Keg at William K Kurvi, 20170331) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and citricness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, white bread, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, hoppy and bitter. A nice hoppy pale ale with low ABV.
