Das “Local Hero” Amarillo Pale Ale ist unsere single hopped Spezialität des Herbstes 2021. Leicht bekömmlich und fruchtig schmeckt es nach süßen Früchten, blumig und leicht würzig. Mit 36 IBU ist es fast halb so bitter wie unser Endboss IPA und nicht ganz so fruchtig wie das Summer Rain New England IPA. Seinen dezenten Frucht-Geschmack verdankt es dem Amarillo Hopfenzugaben im so genannten Wirlpool. Der Lokalheld des Sauerlandes ist geprägt vom Biggesee-Cover – unserem geliebten Stausee im Kreis Olpe – aufgenommen von Thomas Fiebiger, einem lokalen kreisbekannten Fotografen.

17/9/2022. Bottle at the Malilla GP beer share. From Boris, cheers. Pours slightly hazy dark orange gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of sweet stewed fruits, stone fruits, caramel, hay, chalk. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, oily, quite fizzy. Quite disappointing.

Leicht brettiger Geruch. Trocken hopfiger Antrunk, milde Herbe, etwas grasig. Im Mittelteil steigt die Würzigkeit leicht an, minimal bitter, süffig aber nicht so vielschichtig wie erwartet. Gut trinkbar. 6/8/8/8/11/8

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, amber colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Caramel malty and slightly citrusy fruity, minimally waxy, hoppy aroma, hints of orange, mandarine, mandarine peel, buttery overtones. Taste is citrusy fruity hoppy, caramel malty, hints of orange, mandarine, some butter, ammonia, marmite. Slightly oily texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft carbonation. Quite some off-flavours, definitely flawed - deficient.
