Originally brewed as a special to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar in 1805. However, production of the bottled version and, occasionally, the cask has continued.
This premium bottle-conditioned ale has been uniquely brewed using our own Cornish Gold malt. Locally grown barley is traditionally malted using a special kilning process which develops a deeper intensity of colour and flavour than ordinary barley malt. Blended with both Styrian Golding and Cascade hops, the result is a deep bronze ale with a delicious rich biscuit flavour and a wonderful spicy aroma.

500ml bottle from Tesco - Ruby red body, thin almost non existent head. Nose is a fruity malt, sweet caramel and an earthy hopiness there. Taste has a good malty rounded mouthful, lots of dried fruit, a little resinous on the way out. Enjoyed this one.

0,5 bottle purchased in Belgrade and consumed in Kosovo. Pours a typical English bronze color, filtered and with a very little ivory head which dissipates pretty fast leaving gassy spots on the top. Nose: tea-like hoppy notes, basic hidden malty sensation, biscuits. Mouth: medium carbonation, bitter overall notes hitting pungently the palate in a final blast, herbal predominantly dominating the mouth.
