330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May 24. Thanks Mark for this! Pours a dark amber, good off-white head. Toasted malt, gentle nutty malt, more pronounced malty nuances would've been welcome but it's light and pleasantly drinkable.

Monday 27th May 2024, Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie, five guys drinking beer and talking bollox. Cheers Mark for the bottle of this. Off-white crown on a clean, deep amber body. Nice malty feel to this one, almost half-Altbier and half-Dunkel. Liked it.

On tap at The Kernel, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out earthiness, toasted nuts, and a touch of toasted malt. Flavour is dry, with toasted malt and some earthiness. Competent but perhaps falls shy of the peak of dunkels. Decent.

Bottle from the brewery online shop. Pours clear dark brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas of dried herbs and coffee. Taste is more coffee, dusty cocoa, more dried herbs. A bit fusty. Dry finish.

Bottle from HoTM. It pours clear deep mahogany brown a sturdy khaki head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, toasted brown bread, malt loaf, touch of coffee, dried fruits, red berry, sultana, cherry jam and toasted fruit loaf. The taste is initially smooth, then it dries out with a kick of bitterness that lingers, dry roasted nuts, woody, coffee grounds, cacao nibs, touch of dried fruits, toasted fruit loaf, toasted spice and brown bread with a drying, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Well out together. Robust, yet very drinkable. Noice.
