Good coffeecream coloured head over deep dark chestnut beer. Roast, roasted bread, breadcrust, aven a bit morning coffee -like aroma. Dry, dry dark malts, again a bit coffee powder - like, even cappucino, cacao included. Bready, but not sweet bread. Feels better bodied than it obviously is, almost chewy impression, good carbonation. German Dunkel, made in London. And: nail-on-the-head! Better even than a lot of Heimat Dunkels!

Keg at Mother Arch 2, 04/11/21. Murky brown with a decent beige head that clears to a swirl. Nose is nutty, brown bread, biscuit, dried fruits. Taste comprises dark malts, fruit cake, light spice, toffee, ashen tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Decent.

Draught at the brewery. Nose is citrus, orange, chocolate, Cocoa. Palate is orange, chocolate, some bitter finish. Good stuff

on tap at The Kernel Taproom. Clear dark russet colour lasting beige head. malty dunkel aroma. clean malty dunkel. dry not too sweet. very simple bit very drinkable. enjoyed it.

Bottle from Clapton craft. A light hazed amber nut brown coloured pour with a lasting beige froth. Aroma is nice earthy dark bready rye, hint of smoked malts, birch, some jammy fruit, riasin. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, light tang, toasted bread, hint of smoke, hint of coffee, earthy. spicy finish. Palate is semi sweet, dry, frothy carbonation. Pretty well rounded. I dig the hint of smoke.

Bottle. Little Leeds Beer House online shop. Moderate haze on a reddy bronze. Super creamy, lasting, almost fully lacing, shiny beige head. Looks the business. Nose has toffee. Sweet, crusty brown bread malts. Hint of chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Touch of smoke too, as it warms. Taste is a tad dry, with some bready sweetness. Light body. Foamy carbonation. Fairly short dry finish. Decent, but I can’t help but think it needs to be 5.6% rather than 4.6%.

Bottles from Cornelius and the brewery’s online shop. Hazy amber/brown body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of copper, straw, caramel and rust. Flavour of raisin, steel and wood. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A sweet, full flavoured Dunkel.

Bottle from Thursday night Virtual Salford Independent Beer Festival box. Aroma had dark chocolate, malts, coffee and dark berries. Opaque light cola brown. Thick foamy off-white head. Initial light-medium sourness. Medium bitter core. A touch of underlying sweetness. Coffee. Caramel. Citrus. Medium bodied. Slick. Some cream to the mouthfeel. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Good stuff, albeit could be a light stout.
