Brewed march ’03, straight from the oak cask in a one litre swing top bottle. Brownish orange color, very cloudy, no head. Sedate citrus aroma, lovely honeyish citrus flavor. A fair deal of citric sourness. Cherry and just a hint of oak. A bit milky. Some walnut bitterness. Very complex lambic, especially in the flavor, with a very drinkable and refreshing character. This one is pretty good!! Re-rate lambic from januari ’04, according to Armand De Belder, who filled my litre swing top bottle with this magic stuff. Orange color, just a bit hazy. lemon, mandarin and wood in the nose. Citrus in the flavor, strong woody tones. Just a bit milky. Hint of metal. Honey and mandarin. Just a bit sour. Complex and delicious. (8 3 8 5 17 = 4.1).

On tap at Weekend der Spontane Gisting, Opstal, Belgium. Shared with lovely Anja. Clear golden, oily, minimal head. Aroma is sharp funky, fruity, pungent, yeasty, dusty. Ripe apple, lemon zest, floral touch. Flavour has some rubber, phenols, acidity, sour fruit. Very sour, puckering. Strong acidic finish, lightly stinging. Light to a medium body. Wonderful example of a significantly sour beer.

10 March 2019. At In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst. Shared with the lovely Anke! Clear dark golden-orange, no head. Quite unique aroma of leather, dust, attic, wood, cheese, sweaty feet, wet cloth, old apple & bread, even some rubber & peat. Taste is medium funky sour, lactic & sweaty, hay & cheese, sweetish notes of unripe fruit & old bready maltiness, some green apple & vinegar, bitter tones of wood, leather & dust, hints of stable & barnyard in the back. Dry, tart, funky finish, cheese & 'bitter' leather, grass, wood, straw. Medium body, oily texture, flat carbonation. Deeply complex & funky, but remaining a smooth to drink.

From notes. We shared this bottle during my last visit to the brewery, described to me as a blend of one-, two, and three-year old lambik that was not re-fermented. Hazy golden color color, scant white edge head. Aroma of overripe citrus and apple skins. Taste is fruity with light tannins. Tasty.Earlier Rating: 4/30/2018 Total Score: 4.2Served at the Armand and Shaun Hill dinner. Golden yellow color, still. Aroma of wet blanket, dust. Taste has moderate funk, tart dry finish. Tasty.Earlier Rating: 3/1/2017 Total Score: 4.2Bottle from the source. Hazy golden amber color see pic please. Dusty musty horse blanket aroma. Taste is sour with stone fruit and decent funk. Delicious. Earlier Rating: 6/26/2010 Total Score: 4.2Draught at the tasting room, courtesy of Armand - thank you sir! Brewed in January 2009, tasted in June 2010. Classified as a jonge lambik by Armand, but meets Ratebeer’s definition and description of an oude lambik. Slight haziness, variegated color from golden brown to yellow. Small white head that disappears rapidly. Aroma of slight dust and must,, lemon peel. Taste is cour citrus, acidic and very dry, especially at the finish. Wonderful!

0,2l from bottle as 1, 2, 3 year old Lambik blend at the brewery. Amber cloudy colour, no head. Smells sulphur, very musty, manure, hay, light cheese, decent smell, a bit too much sulphur. Medium body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes earthy, citric, musty, cheesy, spices, quite peppery, some wood. Finishes dry and medium sour with notes of wood, citrus and wood notes. This is very nice, did not like the smell but taste is great, very nice complexity, yet very smooth to drink, good stuff
