Reddish brown liquid topped by a large, bubbly beige head. Pleasant roasted malt aroma. Lovely toasted malt flavor with hints of brown sugar, raisins and cola. This zesty, full-bodied brew exhibits a spicey hop balance. Very good and very representative of the Oktoberfest style.

Bottle. Pours a nice brownish copper color with a large frothy tan head. A little bit of lacing as things die down a bit. Aromas are weakish: caramel malt and maybe some hazelnut. Flavor is malt heavy (duh!) but comes off as sort of watery. I can still pick up a bit of a hazelnut flavor in the background. That said, there’s not the sticky and sweet flavor that I like about a good Oktoberfest... rather things are a little watery and sort of bland.

Pours autumnal orange into a shaker. Off-white head slowly recedes to hug rim. Caramel and malt aromas. Crisp with upfront caramel and sweet malts. Slight hop in the finish. A little too sweet...over the long haul.

Bottle. Pours a copper amber color with a medium off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is very malty and sweet. Decent lacing on this one. The taste is a watery malt with a spicy finish. A decent octoberfest from samuel adams.

Amber-orange with a medium tan head. Aroma is rather malty. Caramel/molasses, not too sweet, nice. Flavor is similar, heavy on the malts, molasses really comes through. Pretty solid since it’s not overly sweet. Medium body. Solid output by Sam.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Malty aroma and flavour. Has a slight citric bitter edge to the maltiness. Sweet flavoured wtih caramel and toffee notes. Otherwise straight forward brew, lacks a bit of finesse to work out perfect as a an Oktoberfest brew, but decent as it is.

Bottle. Rich orange amber beer with anoff-white head. Sweet malt and caramel aroma with some earthiness. Caramel and sweet malt flavor with some earthiness and a bit of spice. Medium bodied. Not bad, but a very plain attempt at an octoberfest.

The past two autumns, I have been running into this beer quite a lot. The beer is a pretty good beer, which I never turn down. It is not as hoppy as the SA ale or lager. It has a nice color and a pretty good palate. Sweet, but not overly.

On draft in a $4, 24 oz mug at smokey bones in robinson twp. Has a hue of a darker pale ale rather than a dark beer. Although it was not too bitter, there was a sense of some hops. Come off initially as just a tad watery. No lasting finish. No memorable aroma.
