In 1810, the Oktoberfest tradition was born when Munich celebrated the Crown Prince’s wedding with a special beer and 16 day party. Our version of this classic style blends rich malts for a hearty, smooth flavor with notes of caramel creating a brew that’s perfect for the season, or whatever you’re celebrating.

Draught at Detroit Airport. Hazy gold with a thin white head; caramel malt aroma; sweet caramel taste well balanced by the bittering hops; dry and biscuity finish. Not very exciting.

Pours with a bronze body and a thickish light brown, creamy head. Aroma of toasted malts, chestnuts, and caramel. Taste is caramel, a bit nutty with some astringency in the finish. Water like mouthfeel, moderate levels of carbonation.

Pours clear dark copper with small off white head. Sweet malty aroma with mild hoppiness. Sweet flavors of toffee, caramel and bread with a slight hop bitterness. Medium body with verage carbonation. An average Octoberfest that is very drinkable.

Draft rating from 2007--Has a caramel aroma combined with spices (allspice, cinnamon)...nice copper color, minimal foam...well balanced palate, medium bodied...has a distinct caramel and malt flavor, a tinge of bitter in the finish...it’s nice if you like a little spice

(Bottle) Reddish amber colour with frothy beige head. Malty nose with dried fruit, apricots, caramel, toffee, honey and a hint of chocolate. Slightly toasty. Malty taste with caramel, dried apricots and toffee. Slightly roasted, sweetish with a spicy, but not very bitter, finish. Leaning in the vienna direction but with the malt sweetness of the märzen. Not really rocking my world, but tasty and nice beer.

This Marzen poured a nice deep copper colour with a big bold tan coloured head. To the nose you could smell scents of ripe fruit, sugary malts, citrus, candy (cherry Life Savers)...First taste was really smooth almost to the flat side of things but still good with very sweet flavours of raisins and that slight cherry flavour too. Thick syrupy mouthfeel with a very sweet finish and a palate of ??? Vermouth and cough candies??? Not as bad as it sounds.

Draft in chilled shaker. Good orange Okto color, thin lacy head, basic beer smell. Taste had a bit of yeast to it. Toasty autumnal malts, and I catch some spicy hop notes among prickly carbonation. A bit more German hops that I usually find in this style. Served a little warmer, it might reveal some complexity.
