Nichts für Kalorienzähler: Das OETTINGER Bock ist bestes Starkbier, süffig und würzig – NULL LIGHT, dafür kräftig im Geschmack. Der Legende nach suchten Mönche in der Fastenzeit etwas Genussvolles, um sich bei Laune zu halten. Sie schickten dem Papst ein Fass Bockbier, um seine Erlaubnis einzuholen. Auf der langen Reise verdarb das Bier und wurde sauer. Der Papst probierte: Das Gebräu schmeckte nach Sühne. Gnädig ließ er den Mönchen ihren Willen.

50cl bottle @ Sky-discount, Flensburg. Clear amber color with a small white head and lacings. Alcohol. caramel, toffee and a bit of grain. Medium bodied. Sweet and slightly sticky. Nice German.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.Clear medium orange amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, and a peppery - alcohol finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081106]

Bottle. A nice, dense beige to off-white head topped this amber-bodied beer. Nice lacings. The aroma gives it away, it’s sure a dunkel bock, with a pleasant malty sweetness, and some dried fruits. Sweet and malty flavor as well, with a little fruity touch and some toasted notes. Quite pleasant. Full body. This one sure were better than expected from Oettinger. (080112)

I think one of the best Oettinger beers, but not a really good one. Strong und dry, the finish a little bit too bitter. An average beer!

Eine Besonderheit ist dieses Bier, da man Bockbiere im Billigsegment meist vergeblich sucht. Der Bock startet mild malzig, im Mittelteil wird das Bier zwar etwas stärker, beliebt aber vergleichsweise mild. Ein alkoholischer Unterton ist erkennbar, ist aber aufgrund der Milde zu vernachlässigen. Zum Abgang hin weiter malzig, im Vergleich zum Mittelteil etwas schwächer. Unauffälliger und milder Bock. Bottle. Frothy white fair mostly lasting head. Brown-amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Slightly toasted notes. Moderate bitter flavor. No licorice but a little roasted flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. A little boring but nice.

From 50 cL bottle. Pours clear golden orange with little white head. Aroma is slight sweet caramel and grain malty. Flavour is caramel malty, slight sweet but rather grainy. Has a slight metallica note. Finish is malty.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of thewolf/Grovlam. Clear, amber golden with a dense, white head. Clean aroma of roasted malt. Quite full-bodied with roasted malts and an edge of metal. The finish is dry. OK as such but a bit stereotypical. 290607
