5oz pour in the tap house. Dark brown appearance with a dark brown head. Roast, chocolate, light ashy smoke, marshmallows, and a bit of caramel in the nose. Moderate bitterness and sweetness. Medium body. The flavor is better than the aroma though it is nothing special. Mostly chocolate and char in the flavor. Clean finish. My favorite beer of the four beer flight I had here but it wasn’t all that special. The bartender recommended I try the barrel aged beers next time, but honestly, if they have trouble making a good base beer, the only reason I think I’d like the barrel aged beers is if they do a good job of covering the mediocrity and in some cases, flaws. Decent.
