On tap at GABF, pours a hazy brown with small beige head. The aroma is yeast, pure sugar, spice. Medium body, caramel, yeast, boozy finish, very good.

On tap @ the brewery. A bit hazy dark orange appearance with a tan head. Aroma is goopy caramel malt, bitter bland hops, light banana, and some fruit. Goopy, overly sweet, and boozy. Some twangy, woody, tart notes. Fairly herbal. Thick sweetness. Caramel and burnt wood. High carbonation. Pass.

Sample at the taproom. The beer is a clear orange-amber color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to a dense film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, yeast and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, fruit and earthy yeast. The finish is malty with a lingering fruity yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap - well, this is about as one-dimensional as a beer like this can be - this mostly tastes like green raisins, candi sugar, and light grassiness - very mild esters - there is nothing particularly flawed about this; it’s just boring as hell - if I am going to ingest this much alcohol (listed as 10.5), I’d better get a complex beer that inspires slow, contemplative sipping - this ain’t it, an in this respect, not a ton separates this from malt liquor.
