Boston has a long, rich history of brewing. By the late 1800s, over 30 breweries existed inside Boston's city limits, making it one of America's largest brewing hubs. Inspired by Boston's brewing glory days, Samuel Adams Boston Brick Red has a distinct caramel flavor from pale and caramel malts, and a deep red color reminiscent of the historic red brick at the Samuel Adams Boston brewery. This one of a kind beer has historically only been found on tap in Boston, making it impossible to take home this piece of the city's brewing history.... Until now. Cheers!

Pours rather clear, deep amber. Small white head. Smell is mild caramelly, but srtill fresh . taste is reasonable bitter. very crunchy-crisp, ambermalty flavor profile, without ever getting thick or heavy or too sweet. very balanced.

On tap at Doyle’s, Boston. It’s clear, dark amber colored beer with a dense, off-white head. The aroma is bready, roasted and lightly fruity. Some bitterness in the flavor, a little fruity touch too, but it’s mostly the malts that run the show. Bread, nuts and some roasted notes, lasting for a while. Easy drinkable and tasteful, but a bit ordinary. 150608

Tap at Logan airport as I board a flight to Dublin so this is very appropriate. Pours nice reddish copper. Nose is faint malt and caramel. Tastes of light malt, molasses, cinnamon, caramel, and subdued pine. Touch watery but clean tasting.

Reviewed from notes.
This was on tap and poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice gentle dark red color with a thin half finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than about forty seconds leaving a nice slightly foamy clingy lacing.
The aroma had a nice nutty to caramel smell that was fairly enticing and rich.
The taste was moderately sweet but still had a nice roasted nuttiness about it.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable aspect about it. Also, there’s a nice rich creamy sort of feel running over my tongue.
Overall, this was a pretty good Irish Red ale well worthy of having again. I think it would be beneficial to Sam Adams if they started bottling this one.

Tap at Union Oyster House. Very little aroma but lots of malt in the flavor with some caramel and sweet for the style. This style doesnt have much to offer but this beer does it better than most.
