On tap @ the brewery during San Francisco 7/7/14 beer tour. Pours an amber orange appearance with a cream colored head. Slightly nutty, toasted malty aroma with just a vague hint of butterscotch. Carbonation is a bit high. Slight veggie flavor. Caramel and toasted malt. Dull hops. Bleh.

On tap at Magnolia, pours a clear copper orange with a small beige head. Aroma is very subtle, with toasted herbal notes. Flavour tastes like nothing, just some subtle toasted malt with an English twist. Boring as hell - nothing to this.

Rating from tap (cask was available as well). Pours with a completely clear penny hued body with a small and resilient bone colored head. Aromas are bready, toasty, estery. Diacetyl (butterscotch in this case), hay and a low hop aroma. Flavors are nutty, husky, bready, with an assertive bitterness. Some astringency. Faint esters, a touch of diacetyl (that seems to contribute to a fuller body). Bitterness is a bit grabby. Medium to short duration. Medium bubbles. Decent body, with a bit of slickness. A touch of minerallity in the finish.

(On tap) Clear, amber golden with an off-white head and some lacework. Discreet aroma of caramel. Light and slightly watery body with dry notes of caramel and nuts. The finish is dry and lightly bitter. I’m not sure I understand why Magnolia has two Bitters on tap at the same time. 210307
