Clear black beer, tiny beige head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: all coffee, roasted, charcoal, some dark chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very roasted, lots of coffee, lots of dark chocolate, and cocoa powder. Aftertaste: more roast, pretty bitter, lots and lots of chocolate, like it!

Can at home home in Hackney - sourced from the brewery. Very well rounded, lots of gooey chocolate, moderate bitter coffee, soft earthy bitterness, dried fruits, raisins. Full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with notes of ashy roast, burnt wood dryness, more dried fruits, bittersweet baking cocoa, mocha, fresh coffee. Lingering heat in the aftertaste. Good firm stout.

Canned 22.11.17. Mmm, coffee. And stout and coffee. No acidity or green peppers you often get with this amount of coffee, just the coffee flavors marrying with the stout. Very yum, my kind of beer.

Can @Bir&Fud Bottega (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma cappuccino media. Al naso note di caffé, cioccolato fondente, leggera liquirizia. In bocca è equilibrata, caffettosa ma non monocorde, molto rotonda, amara sul finale. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Ottima.

330mL can, pours black with a large tan head. Aroma brings out intense espresso upfront, with moderate roasted malt providing a solid body. Flavour is along the same lines, with robust espresso notes upfront, followed by medium roasted malt. Coffee-dominated and silky on the palate. Excellent beer.

Can picked up at Wholefoods. it pours opaque jet black with a decent dark tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, earthy, plenty of coffee, toasted nut, powdered chocolate, some umami, liquorice, burnt treacle and a touch of spice. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, toasty, earthy, plenty of coffee, bit of tannin, wood, toasted nut, peppery spice, alcohol warmth, slick, oiliness and chocolate cake with a toasty, slightly charred finish. Medium - full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth - feel. Perhaps doesn't quite have the depth of the previous version and is a touch dryer. Tasty nonetheless.
