Can at home from Offie & Toffee. A good pour with a dark and dangerous look in the glass. The aroma was all burnt malt and coffee. Which was exactly the same as the taste and was a bit like being hit in the face with a frying pan. It was completely unsubtle and the richness that it imparted made it a struggle to finish the can. This may be ok for a few sips to the "rated" but it is in my opinion in no way drinkable.

0,33l can at home. Canned 22.11.2017. BB 22.11.2018. black color, small coffee colored head. smells coffee, coffee sud, green herbal, nice lactose notes, earthy, nice smell, liked it more once it warmed up. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of coffee, ash, green herbal, light lactose, peppery. finishes dry and medium roasty bitter with notes of coffee, ash and green herbal notes. nice one, expected a bit more, rather on the ashy side, did not like the balance so much, I wish it was a bit more creamy overall. still very nice beer though.

330 ml can from BeerLovers, canned 22.11.17
Pitch-black,oily body, with a big, creamy, moderately lacing, dark beige to brown head.
Aroma of freshly grinded coffee beans, espresso, wood, bitter chocolate, tobacco, some soy sauce, some liquorice.
Tastes quite similar, with some more toffee.
Full, oily to creamy mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes roasty, a bit bitter, moderate dry, wooden, with lots of coffee again, dark chocolate, some liquorice, slight soy sauce.
Very tasty. Loads of coffee, while there is also room for other notes, like creamy dark chocolate. Alcohol is greatly hidden, drinks pretty smooth. Lovely, expressive stuff, as always from Beavertown.

Can at home picked up from Caps and Taps. A jet black coloured pour with a lasting dark tan froth. Aroma as intense woody dark chocolate, ash campfire, little rustic farmyard, woody dark coffee. A lot going on in the nose. Flavour is composed of intense black roast, bitter black coffee, bitter ashy roast, charcoal. Long lingering bitter roast, campfire. Pretty harsh. Palate is full bodied, velvety, frothy fine carbonation. Intense stuff, little harsh.

330ml can. Completely pitch black with a small quickly dissipating dark tan head. Aroma is full of roasted coffee beans, a little treacle. Taste is rich, tons of coffee, roasted malt, some sweet chocolate, brown sugar, treacle, smoke, some toffee fudge like notes, bitter roasty finish, got even better as it warmed up. Full bodied, velvety smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. An insanely good imperial stout!
