Humulus is characterised by an intense brown colour and a full-bodied cappuccino-coloured head.
The dark lightly roasted malts and the abundant hoppiness of its single North American hop (Cascade) give it those fresh citrusy notes that mix perfectly with the coffee and roasted barley aroma which characterises an elegant persistence of taste. Furthermore, at the end of the fermentation some dry hopping is added, to emphasize the scent.

Bottled. Black colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is strong on the ashy and roasted malty notes, but also has some old coffee, fruity and floral hops as well as some zesty and herbal notes. Flavour is chocolaty, some old coffee, roasted malts, ashes as well as a bunch of hoppy elements to it. This is the kind of Black IPA I’m not too fond off, where a bigtime hoppiness meets a kind of very ashy and roasted malty thing.

Draught @ One Pint Pub. Aroma has pine needles, some licorice and mellow ashy tones. Flavour has ash, deep roasted tones, licorice and dark chocolate. Palate is rather low on CO2. Very nice, I like the well roasted malt here. This could work even better as a stout.
