Jack Hammer has been single handedly ripping it up for quite some time. Now this IPA, has spawned four hammer head off-springs. Rye Hammer is the fourth of our super-charged hyped up hybrids.

A grapefruit harvest of citrus melts away to sticky roasted caramel and rye warmth, all resting on a malted biscuit backbone. Then ‘The Hammerhead’s trademark bitter finish reasserts its authority.

(Can) Pale amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, peaches, pine needles, rye bread and toffee. Malty, hoppy taste with grapefruit, pineapple, peaches, rye bread, pine needles and a solid citric, piney bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty, with an impressive hop presence and a spicy rye character. Very nice.

Can at KØ17. Fruity aroma, hint of veg. Hazy golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is fruity and spicy with a mild hop bite. Pine and light caramelly hoppiness. Good mouthfeel.

8/VI/17 - 33cl can from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: 10/XII/17 (2017-798)

Clear blond to light orange beer, aery irregular off-white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lovely smell, very fruity, passion fruit, mandarins, bit malty, grains, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, bit grassy, lots of bitter grapefruit, not as fruity as the smell would have you believe it would. Aftertaste: bitter, bit resinous, almost chemical, grapefruit pits, very bitter dry finish. Not a big fan of this one.
