12 oz. can. Pours black, with a big, frothy, tan head. The nose is dark chocolate, chalk, spruce, cereals, and cinnamon. Dry and roasty, with an unobtrusive bitterness that balances well. Medium body, malty, and crisp. Simple and beautifully made.

On tap at Trve, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, a touch of hops, and subtle dry coffee. Flavour is dry, with medium roasted malt, oat-like heartiness and some light coffee. Dry and smooth on the palate. Very good.

Enjoyed on tap at Trve Brewery in Denver, CO as part of a sampler. Appearance is pitch black with a light tan head. Aroma has a nice dark roast coffee profile with a mix of cocoa. Taste is really good, nice and dry, not too sweet, somewhat sessionable stout. Very good stuff!

Tap @ Trve. Pours a dark brown appearance with a thin brown head. Coffee, roasted malty, chocolate, light smoky aroma. A bit thin, minty, coffee flavor. Fairly bitter. Not my favorite.

Draught. Black pour with thick white head. Light malty aroma, some chocolate notes. Too restrained flavour, malt chocolate and some anise. Tin finish

Dark ruby, nearly black - aroma of dry cocoa, raisin, anise, espresso, vanilla bean, earth - creamy texture, medium to full.body - medium dry and fairly rich, with a lot a bittersweet chocolate, followed by anise, raisin and other dried.dark fruits - finish has loads of coffee character - lingering bitter chocolate - we have a winner here.
