This dark ruby vintage ale with an ABV of 8.5%, resembles the first ales brewed by the Laird in the 1960s. Tasting notes of dark fruits, liquorice, caramel, and vanilla, and also a lingering warm and alcoholic aftertaste.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Deep ambery brown colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some dark fruits and berries with mild spicy yeast as well. Flavour is spicy yeast, some alcohol, dark fruits, toffee and some wooden notes. Good sipper.

Isn't this the Vintage Ale? Bottle thanks so much to Tom and Terri. Pours a dark chestnut hue with a large creamy beige head. A big malty nose, oak and toffee. Light bitter hops, rich malts, sweet, burnt toffee, caramel, oxidation. Just lovely. The palate is awesome.

[ As Traquair Lord Nithsdale ].
ABV: 8.5%. Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, wood - tobacco, dried fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dark malt, tobacco, dried fruit, malty, rich. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20220416]

--Bottled, from Systembolaget. -- Deep mahogany colour, firm mid sized head. Aroma of treacle, caramel and peat. Mid sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Deep toasty, mildly peaty malt. Mildly warming mid bitter finish. Pretty much the perfect Scottish fireside winter warmer.

Flaska från SB. Mahognyfärgad vätska med krämigt beige skum. Doft av russin, fruktkaka och kladdigt vetebröd. Söt, stor och fruktig. Utvecklad smak, torkad frukt, särskilt russin, kryddig träig beska ger balans och lång lite torrare eftersmak. Komplex och elegant. Mycket gott.
