Tap @ Denver Beer Co. Transparent, dark orange appearance with a white head. Skunk bud, piney, a bit citrusy hoppy, toasty malty aroma. Piney, somewhat grapefruity, light mary jane hoppy flavor. Pretty good.

This beer was designed as a showcase of summit hops and in that it does a good job - a sturdy malt base provides some caramel and toffee flavors to keep the strong peppery notes of the hop in check - because the summit profile is so strong, though, it does also have a slight garlic note which is slightly off-putting - the malt sweetness does a good job of hiding this, though - finish is spicy and slightly minty - not bad, you just need to be a fan of summit hops.
