Can 1 pt. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a cloudy dark brown with an orange hue and a dense and frothy beige head with good retention. Sweet roasty nose with a whiff of aromatic hops. Medium body, lowish carbonation, subtle roast, some licorice and a little ashes. Some bitterness in the finish from both malts and hops. 270612

Tap @ Freshcraft. Deep brown/black appearance with a creamy, dark brown head. Quite sweet caramel/candy/chocolate aroma that’s fairly devoid of hops. Very sweet, candy sugar-like, chocolate, somewhat roasty, mild fruity, anise, belgian yeasty flavor that almost reminds me of a quad or dubbel. Where the fuck are the hops? I can’t taste them. This tastes like a complete mess to me but I guess I’m the exception not the rule.
