Tap @ brewery. Clear, dark brown appearance with a nice brown head. Very nice, roasty dark caramel malty, a touch smoky, nutty, espresso aroma. A bit burnt/smoky, caramel malty, roasty, chocolate, mild coffee flavor.

Tap at the brewery - dark ruby beer - very hefty, more along the lines of a stout - despite having so many ingredients, everything comes together well - the bitterness of the dark malt works well with moderate notes of spicy rye and woody hops - the dash of smoked malt adds an earthiness and a slight autumnal, campfire kind of quality - there is a subtle chocolate sweetness - toasty rye finish, with lingering bitterness - very tasty.
